It was very hot.

After it cooled it started back up but I noticed the radiator fan wasnt running. It is a 12v brushless DC fan. It sort of kicked when it was supposed to come on and got warm so I knew it was getting power but just not running. I cut the wires and removed it and took the fan apart by removing a sticker, a little dust cap, and a plastic retaining c clip. I tried resoldering all the connections and it still wouldnt run and the only part other than the coils (which tested good) is a small chip that looks like a transistor with four legs.
