incapable of understanding things, doesn't magically make you "frugal". Frugality is a virtue. Any virtue takes effort.

Being cheap is not a virtue. Not being a virtue, being cheap does not require any effort. Being able to remember a cheap outlet, that is being advertised all day as being cheap, does require a bit of memory, I'll give you that. But not very much.
抠门不是美德。既然不是美德，抠门就不费任何劲。能记住一个便宜的地方，一个成天打广告说便宜的店，确实需要点记忆力，这点我承认。但真不用太多。
Walmart is cheap. Cheap has nothing to do with frugal. Any moron can be cheap. But to be frugal requires knowledge, talent, effort and will power.
Walmart就是便宜货。便宜跟节俭八竿子打不着。随便哪个傻子都能抠门。但节俭需要知识、天赋、努力和意志力。
being cheap only requires a lack of taste.
抠门只需要没品味就行。
Don't confuse the two. While these can be "similar" if you have no idea of what you are talking about, they are definitely not.
别把这俩搞混了。如果你压根不懂自己在说啥，这俩看着确实“挺像”，但绝对不是一回事。

-Cheap: you show her how to steal expired food from a restaurant garbage

Transportation:
-Frugal: you own a used car which you maintain and maybe even repair yourself.
-节俭：你开一辆二手车，自己保养，甚至可能自己动手修。
-Cheap: you fake your social papers to obtain a free bus pass
-抠门：你伪造社保文件去搞免费公交卡
Shopping:
-Frugal: You buy good enough quality that lasts and does something you require, not just something you saw on ads.
-节俭：你买质量够好、耐用、真正能干活的，不是广告里看到啥就买啥。
-Cheap: you shop on discount days at a discount food stores for items that make you sick.
-抠门：你专挑折扣店的折扣日买东西，结果吃到自己上吐下泻。
