today on how the expanded use of technology ( computers/screens) in the classroom is hurting the students, more than helping them .

The Article contends that the students learn better from the " old way " of doing things, like reading " from a book ' writing on paper, not just typing . When a student reads from a book, it's more of a memorable experience and tends to be remembered more .....and ....when a student writes on paper ( in cursive ? ) or does problems on paper, they get more physically involved and this assists in the learning process.....It's easier to review the whole writing/problem when it's on paper , than having to screen back and forward.

Makes sense to me ....I did it that way ...and look at the success I am today .....

basics and fundamentals without them then it's hard to progress beyond those levels. Most basics and fundamentals are taught early on-reading, writing, basic arithmetic so if a kid decides to cheat and resort to audio books or some other tech that reads text aloud and relies on calculator to do math then you might as well replace the child/student with a calculator and audio books or the software that reads text.
