Indeed, if Microsoft doesn't make money from Windows license and just wants Windows to keep the monopoly to sell their subscription shit, then making it open source would make sense. And more importantly, competent devs would fix it, basically for free, instead of paying retarded jeets who keep enshitifying it. So why don't they?

The real reason is because it would be a PR nightmare since M$ is primarily known for wangblows. Instead they're considering porting all their programs to electronslop so it can be used on linux and mac though.

The closest thing you have is Windows Server Core. comes without everything. not even a GUI you only have powershell. but it's intended for containers.
