Fucked up ordering everything at the same time. It's been a week and I have boards and keycaps but the most important part the switches are nowhere in sight. Anyone ever ordered from Akko before? They sent me some bullshit message saying my address was incorrect a few days ago. I double checked and it wasn't I even checked with my post office and I sent it to them again but I haven't heard anything back yet. Really getting frustrated, these are test keyboards I'll probably end up sending back at least one but I'm worried the switches won't even show up before I run out of return time for the boards.

The 125Hz of the MX Master is getting to me while gaming and I'm looking for a nice wireless EC-2 shape clone (next best thing to an Intellimouse) that'll run wirelessly at 1000Hz. Don't know why but availability goes in cycles. Sometimes shit is just sold out for a few weeks/months. I just checked now and you can get the built ones. You don't need to start with a barebones, they aren't that much cheaper. Just get the V6 max and if you want custom switches and keycaps than you can pull out the ones already in it and keep those as a backup. It will give you some extra practice which can't hurt either.

FL Esports makes great keyboards regardless, they've been some of my favorites to use out of any Aliexpress mechanical brand. A CMK98 I bought off of mechkeys.com way back was my daily driver for a VERY long time before I sold it alongside a Steam Deck, fabulous keyboard and I kinda wish I still had it.

What I will say about them before you go any farther is that they're a bitch and a half to open up if you're the type to tinker or customize, but pretty much everything about it is already perfect out of the box, so ideally you won't even feel the need. The only real customization options are in switches and keycaps, and even those I think their default options are really good, especially the Akko ASA-like keycaps that are probably the only way you can really get them anymore because Akko doesn't sell many keycaps anymore.

Yeah unless you can find an absolute dirt-cheap barebones board, a la Keebmonkey or something from BOYI, it's not actually going to save you much money. Most of the cost in a keyboard is going to be in its switches and caps, so barebones boards only really make sense if you already come loaded with the switches and caps you want, or you already have exactly what you want in mind.

You could also probably slum around Aliexpress and brute-force low prices on barebones aluminium boards with coins, coupons, or eat the cost over time in manageable chunks with Paypal Pay-in-4.

Figured I should have him try a bunch of different switches to see what he liked. I've never used one before myself though so not sure what the best method is. Today I fucked around with my F122 a little more, added larger diameter o-rings since smaller diameter ones would slip through the mounting holes/screws, and these ones should sit firmly between the case and the assembly, and added a tad bit more polyfill in the top where I could still add it. I think the o-rings helped quite a bit as now I don't think there's the same hollow sound and it sounds about the same when on desk as it does while on a towel.

今天又折腾了下我的 F122：加了大直径 O 环（小直径会从安装孔/螺丝滑过），这批应该能稳稳卡在外壳和组件之间，顶盖还能加 polyfill 的地方又加了一点。O 环帮助挺大：空腔声没了，放桌上和放毛巾上声音基本一致。

The really annoying bit about adding the o-rings are the top screws with the extra nuts that push the assembly in a little so that it's properly aligned with the case, most of the time when I tried to tighten those I would end up tightening the nut to the assembly plate and not screw into the case's screw holes at all, and attempting to correct it often leads to the o-ring falling off, but after some trial and error I managed to get it secured propely with the o-rings.

Any chance you could word that differently? I'm not sure I understand what your issue is exactly. Are you wanting a stronger bump feel so you know when you have activated a key?
