GNOME foundation just released their "longer-term vision" of the GNOME and it's basically pixel-by-pixel copy of the iOS and iPadOS. Basically, iOS just before the Liquid Glass.

PC's are a niche, most people don't even use a PC anymore. Most people are used to phones and touch interfaces, only GNOME and Apple care about this at the moment. Classic desktops will die, most laptops have touch displays included now and if your OS is not touch friendly heck or even just gesture friendly, you will be irrelevant in the future (the future is now btw). I know this sounds like a meme, but it's the harsh truth. Have you seen gaming events? Kids don't even try to play the demo with Mouse and Keyboard, they tried to tap the screen. Devs had to give them controllers for them to be interested.

I use a tablet as my main computer nowadays, and before that a laptop where I used GNOME daily... the transition was seamless for me.
