can you elaborate how? I have some 65nm cherry clears (I don't fucking know) and they're not quite as heavy as I'd like nor as tactile as I want. Its also loud as fuck because I have a super heavy finger; typing on a lenovo thinkpad or whatever I'm the loudest person in the office so I assume its my typing style.

I only have a Duckee One which /g/ says is overpriced but somehow cheaper than even corsair MX reds. Would it be worth hunting down a beam spring for the heavier keypress and more tactileness, or should I just eat a giant cock and get a prebuilt with removable switches and swap them with something like Jupiter bananas?

As an aside, can key switch manufacturers get their shit together and stop putting retarded names to switches, and just make it easier to shop for?

You'll likely wait a good while before you'll get your keeb. Joe's site is an info mess but the gist is that if you order a Model F from him, that'll be a 1-2 month backlog of orders before it even ships. The current beam springs, the Round 2, is still being made, and you're looking at a backlog going back to like 2021. He'll probably give you a rough idea of the waiting time if you politely ask about it and point to how there's no info about that, only for the buckling spring ones. If there's shipping damage, and there'll likely be as Joe doesn't know what packaging material is, you hit him up and he'll send you replacements free of charge and offer you free shipping for any extras you'd like. Though he'll also ship them without any packing material, just a ziploc bag in an empty cardboard box because lol, lmfao, but my replacements arrived unscathed. If your order fucked up, just e-mail him and he'll correct it, he's pretty responsive when it comes to shit like that.

Take regular breaks. Adjust your chair, desk, monitor, etc. height so that you can float your wrists comfortably. Use a chair designed to be comfortable for long periods like a herman miller aeron, embody, or steelcase leap. Having good posture and good typing technique is more important for your health than what type of board you're using.

It'll take some getting used to if you've only used row staggered boards up until now, but it's not as daunting to switch over as you might think. Most of these type of boards use QMK so you can also program them basically however you want. If you're interested in a dactyl like picrel >>109462094 you can send me an email to dactylman at protonmail.com.

Membrane means there is a capacitive sheet underneath the switches which triggers on key press

Rubber dome is a type of switch that usually goes on top of the membrane and for the most part only rubber domes use membranes in 2026, with a few exceptions including the ibm model m.

How are you on laptop keyboards?

I don't float but I found wrist pain when typing on a standard mx keyboard.

The only "free" things are to

>angle mod (aka position your left hand inwards too so your hands are in a ^ shape).

>learn a new keyboard layout.

these differences seem to be marginal though.

Otherwise buying a split keyboard with columnar stagger is the way. In order of cheapest to most expensive.

>DIY Kit and learn 2 solder

>Pay for a build of a kit

>Buy from proper mass manufacture company

If you do get a kit Choc v1 pink switches are the lowest profile and lightest switch.

All this being said though I don't use my split ergo board from a diy kit anymore because I just found it unreliable to type on as my soldering skills / chink tools, badly made kit? and pcb flex would require me to resolder my pcb every 6 months.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hNRH1ULmbNA&pp=ygUdQmVhbXNwcmluZyByZXZpZXcgY2h5cm9zcmFuMjI%3D

Basically in the beginning there was the beamspring. It is the granddaddy of the ibm keyboards

The model f was much cheaper to produce so that supplanted the beamsprings and the model m was the cheaper version of the model f so that became the keyboard we all know

Beamsprings are supposed to be insanely smooth and good to type on even compared to a model f

The project were talking about is a reproduction of model f and beamspring keyboards where they use custom modules and keyboards to put the switches in. They are not the same thing as OG beamsprings and they aren't completely accurate to what beamsprings were but they still have some of the best key feel of any switch

As for your recommendation I'm also heavy handed and I found I preferred zealios 65g (back when zealios was novel) buckling spring and black space invaders (though those are not usually great keyboards to buy due to chattering issues)

至于你的推荐,我也是大力金刚指,我发现我最喜欢的是zealios 65g(当年zealios还是新鲜玩意儿的时候)、屈蹲弹簧,还有黑色space invaders(虽然这些键盘因为抖动问题一般不推荐买)。

I would recommend you buy a model m from unicomp if you live in America it's extremely reliable never chatters and has very heavy keys that separate weak handed twinks from men

>If you do get a kit Choc v1 pink switches are the lowest profile and lightest switch.

I think my pain stems from decades of typing on heavy switches and poor posture. Light switches sound like the logical choice, but not being able to rest my fingers on the keys will suck - though if i manage to learn to hover type permanently that won't be an issue

> I just found it unreliable to type on as my soldering skills / chink tools, badly made kit? and pcb flex would require me to resolder my pcb every 6 months.
