Are we idiocracy yet?

Is it the norm, that most of the work someone does in IT is managment overhead for a project that is somehow still mismanaged? Is everyone just acting incompetent to get paid money to be useless, or are most people actually incompetent and dont know it?

是不是IT行业里大多数工作本质上是项目管理开销，但项目还是被管理得一团糟？是不是所有人都在装无能，好拿钱当废物，还是说大多数人真的无能而不自知？

I am just 23, got interested in coding at 13, went to a good hs, then top uni in my shitty eastern european country and have now been working as a programmer for 3 years. Except for a few autists I know, 95% of my classmates or colleagues were either frauds, retarded or both.

我才23岁，13岁开始对编程感兴趣，上了个好高中，然后进了我那个烂东欧国家最好的大学，现在当程序员已经3年了。除了我认识几个怪人以外，95%的同学或同事要么是骗子，要么是蠢货，要么两者都是。

I am not sharing details, but due to what the company I work for does, I had the displeasure of working with several teams from several different companies and it all feels fake. Nothing ever got done, deadlines for everything are absurdly long and are always missed anyway. In three years there was not one interesting thing to be done, not one thing requiring a neuron activation to get done.

我不细说，但因为我所在公司的业务，我有幸和几家公司的好几个团队合作过，感觉全是假的。什么都没做成过，所有截止日期都荒谬的长，而且反正总是拖。三年里没有一件有趣的事，没有一件事需要动一下脑子才能完成。

I am not saying I am entitled to fun or a fullfilling job. But I am so fucking dissappointed. Is there truly no place to make useful tech? Am I really supposed to sit 8 hours in an office and just pretend, so I make money to spend on consuming?

我不是说我有资格要求有趣或有意义的工作。但我他妈太失望了。难道真的没有地方能做有用的技术吗？我真的得每天在办公室坐8个小时装样子，赚了钱去消费吗？

well if you dont like your job at boomercorp maybe try looking into more interesting companies? I'm sure someone out there is doing cool stuff and not just staffing a bunch of useless people, just make sure your ego is ready when you're suddenly not the smartest guy in the room

There's usually whole layer of middle managers between the head of IT and the workers on the bottom who actually do the work, and because of that nothing gets communicated properly. Everyone kisses whoever's ass is higher up the chain in hopes of getting promoted and the people on top never really know what is happening day to day.

I work about 15hours real, actual work in a given week, the rest of the time i spend on my side business or open source projects to further my CV.

我一周实际干活大概就15小时，剩下的时间都花在搞副业或者开源项目上刷简历。

Point is, we haven't reached idiocracy, we just never left 1999.

重点是，我们不是退化成了蠢货社会，我们只是从1999年就没走出来过。
