I'm a bit frozen in place, builderbrain isn't made for salesbrain

That's why you have to find someone ruthless to market your app before you develop it. You failed at step zero.

Sorry to say programmers are not fit to market anything.

definitely seems like this is one of the biggest reasons why most tech startups fail, outside of just not having any product fit at all. Engineerbrain and salesbrain have very little overlap and someone has to do that jewy side of things. I'm going to start email campaigns tomorrow but I'm dreading the angry boomer responses to spam lol

Could be worse. Ive spent like 1k on claude building my app/toolset only to realise im the only spaz that would want it

Well we gotta take our shots brother. Drop down to the $20/mo Codex sub and use 5.6 sol on high, keep plugging

People in marketing and sales would sell off their own family if it would benefit the company. If you aren't willing to do that or something similar you're just not fit for the job.

The skills I am trying to develop is using claude free tier only. Keep projects small and manageable, build interfaces and modules that snap together rather than entire projects, etc etc.

How does one even market stuff? Do you just have to be a psycho and get in everyone face?

Building the pipeline and adjusting to change is the hard work, regular marketing and management is not hard, you cannot call it hard work, because it is not.

If we ignore just outright bad business ideas yeah in my experience pretty much. The ones that don't fail because their business idea is the equivalent to setting off fireworks in a public park and then charging people in the area that saw it often fail because they have no one that knows how to sell their product to the right customers.

One of the best examples are medical and lab equipment software support, there are huge niches that in theory are wide open to anyone, in practice unless you have someone that gets you an in into those industries (not the manufacturer side the business customer side) you'd get fucking nowhere.

you're supposed to find out if there's an appetite for your product before you spend months and years building it.

What kind of app? Surely there's at least some demand, especially if it's a niche that has not been covered often.
