When I looked into my first assets I had no prior experience or education. The most common advice was:

There were days where I ended up not spending time on my pastimes in order to really think about whether an asset had potential, what future events could cause a rise or fall in value. Not knowing what asset class would perform best during the year I began I diversified with metals, stocks and crypto. Safe, reasonable, risky. It just so happened that enough of my first crypto picks blew past the other two types. Not all successful assets are tied to purely practical things either.

First there's having some stuff on the ultra-safe end like reaching 1 ounce of gold and 100 ounces of silver. It's what I did before buying stocks and crypto but most things were cheaper on the day I started. A bit more of a risk-reward factor: 50% QQQ, 25% SPMO and 25% stacked hedges like NTSX, RSST. Stepping it up a notch, stocks like: BATL (oil), CNSX: MAXX (hydrogen), SATA (dividends), WPM, NG, NAK, NEM, AEM (related to metals - but as you see it's a crowded area), AMFN, DVN, STMN, NNE (energy - related to the possibility of increasing power needs).

Again, research all of this carefully. Use the 4chan archives and stock market thread to ask more questions. Is it boring? Sure. Is it worth it when your gains vastly outweigh your losses? I see someone mentioned Polkadot (DOT). That's one I saw when I was deciding on my first assets. I concluded it had potential but that it was something to skip at the time and buy later on when I made real gains.
