I thought I was a genius for buying Nintendo a few years ago and watching it moon, but this year I watched all my gains vanish while convincing myself the company would rebound with each Direct. My wife finally pushed me to sell the stock to help with a down payment on a house, and now I've been reflecting on all the time and energy I spent pointlessly worrying about the stock. For what purpose? Financially, I'm back to where I was when I bought the stock. The entire emotional roller coaster was like a psychotic break that played out over years, but nothing real even happened to me. I was just in some kind of terrified fugue state about an imaginary line on a chart. Modern life is so retarded it's unreal.
