So I've suffered some mobility issues this last year, official diagnosis being MS. I've been going to the local community centre to walk the track to practice walking. The setup is that there is a rink for various sports and the track is one floor up but on the outer edge of the rink so that you can view from above, but between the rink and the walking track there is a LOT of seating. I have been walking the track with someone else, I'm not alone, but I hold onto the rail as I'm walking to stabilize myself, but instead of spectators sitting in the seats, they hang off the rail so that I can't use it, I end up holding onto the person who accompanied me. This has been going on for about a year, and it's only been two people who have moved out of the way for me, and I should note, these people see me, they look right at me and continue to just not let me hang onto the rail. My question though is that someone told me that "it's a rink first, a track second." First of all, that doesn't change that I'm trying to walk, and second, who decided that one physical activity is more important than the other?
