I'm a cheapskate, I suppose, out of both instinct and economic necessity. I use Straight Talk for my phone provider. $40/month (and now effectively free because my job gives me a $40 phone allowance). Plus they often offer phones at a huge discount. I got an iPhone 11 for a couple hundred bucks going on 3 years ago. I don't care that it's not the latest and greatest. It works fine. I simply will not pay $1k for a phone, no matter how many "bells and whistles" it claims to have.
