The longest I’ve ever drove/rode straight without stopping for a night would be 19 hours. Definitely not recommend nor safe. And I wouldn’t do it again. The only reason we did the drive was for an emergency. Experts say you shouldn’t drive more than 8 hours a day. I feel okay until about the 12 hour mark

Yep, I did Phoenix to Dallas straight through in 21 hours. I was young and dumb and wanted to make it home, but by the time I reached Dallas I knew that if I didn’t stop for the night I would wind up dead, or worse, so I called it.

Yes, I've driven back and forth across the country about 6 times. I don't think it's possible to do it in two days (a couple of days). It takes at least 3 days of driving 12 hours per day; it's absolutely mind-numbing. A good podcast will help though. If I have the time, it's much better to spread out the drive across 4 or 5 days.

If by couple you mean two it can't really be done. Eureka CA to NYC is basically straight across and it takes, as google thinks rn, exactly 48 hours. You have to never hit a slow down, never stop, at all, for two days. I've driven from Massachusetts to Denver once, and we took three days with a pretty small number of stops, and two 20-year olds trading off driving.

I did a roadtrip around the US for 3 months and most dries were 8-12 hours but it took us a whole month to get from the east coast to the west because we spent 2-4 days at each location.

Close. I have driven from south central PA to Los Angeles when I was married. It took us about three days. However, we were traveling with young children and didn’t drive as long each day as we normally would.

Yes, did NY-CA and back over the course of 2.5 weeks one summer when I had some time off work and not enough money for a bigger vacation. Biggest single stretch of driving was Nashville to New York overnight on the way back.

I drove from South Carolina to Westchester County NY in 14 hours, with just stops for gas, meals and bathroom. I did the DC loop twice, by accident and at the end of the trip, I had to sit in the car for another 15 minutes because we were listening to Charles Dickens, "Great Expectations," and we had that much time left.

There is a long distance motorcycle riding grouo called the Iron Butt Association. One of the tougher rides to do is called the 50cc. Which gives you 50 hours to drive from coast to coast.

Ex military here. I did it a handful of times. It certainly was easier to log this 12 plus hour days when you are young. The wife and I did out once nearly non stop switching drivers in about 3 days.

Never driven from coast to cast directly, but done a lot of road trips solo. If google maps says it will take 10.5 hours of driving, with stops for gas/food/stretching it'll take me about 12 hours total (assuming I am a solo driver). I can have a good time for 7 hours. Nine hours in, I'm really looking forward to stopping. After twelve hours I'm very solidly done and can't really drive safely at that point.

always takes me 2.5-3 days from Georgia. 1st day an hour or 2 into texas, 2nd day is all texas, and a little bit of new mexico, 3rd day san diego before dark.

My parents did Washington State to Louisiana in 3 days with a 4 year old (me) and an infant. Dad swore he would never do that again.

Brunswick GA to LA IS 35 hours drive time. That’s 3 12 hour days if you didn’t stop AT ALL in those 12 hours.

That said, as a military family, we moved from California to Virginia when I was a kid. I think we did it in 3 days, but looking back that would have been nuts with two toddlers.

As an adult, my husband & I have done two different 15 hour trip in a day. I’d say that’s the absolute max. I’m not sure I’d do either of those again with kids along. But it was fine when it was just the grown ups. Definitely a long day.

Farthest I d e over was in the early 2000s I was stationed outside San Francisco and I drove strait to see my fiancé that lived in Fort Worth. About 32 hours of just stopping for gas. I5 to i10 to I 20. Long ass drive.

I love driving so I have a high tolerance. I meandered my way from FL to WY and then Northern CA over 5 days before. Once drove 22 hours straight from Los Cruces NM back to FL another time.
