I am curious about this because most apartments/townhomes in the US seem to not have any balcony or patio area where traditionally people from Asia dry their towels after showering. I am from India and have been living in the US for couple of years now and every home that I have ever been to so far, does not have a place to dry wet towels. It is mandatory in Indian homes to have a dedicated place to hang wet towels to dry. We even air dry all of our clothes so there is so much dedicated place for wet clothes. This maybe trivial but I NEED ANSWERS.

Edit: Whoa lots of comments here. Many misunderstood because I left out a minor detail. I do have seen a shower road or a hook in every bathroom, but it never occurred to me to hang my wet towel in the shower after I used hot water. Even with having an exhaust fan turned on since the air is filled with steam, it makes the towel mushy and growing up in India. It is a taboo to hang wet towel indoors. Because the whole room smells so I never hang my wet towel on chairs or couch inside the house. I never hang it on the shower rod after I shower with hot water. Most homes I have been to didn’t have a patio or a balcony.

There's a little hanging bar in the bathroom that can accept 2 or 3 towels. Usually. If that doesn't exist, it's pretty tricky - I've actually never lived somewhere without such a thing.

Every apartment I've lived in has had a balcony but I don't dry my towels out there. Most people have a hook in their bathroom or bedroom for towels. People don't usually line dry clothes in an apartment setting but if you have a private deck or yard, some people will use a clothes line. Otherwise people use drying racks inside for drying multiple items.

All the home bathrooms I have been in have towel racks on the wall or showerer door. Older homes or apts one usually hangs it over the shower curtain. Amazon also sells portable wooden racks for hanging towels or hand washables on.

My family has always washed them right after and then tumble dried. My partner’s family would hang up their towels to air dry and use for 2-3 showers total before washing and drying. He had a bigger family so that may have played into that. My parents had a clothing line outside to dry clothes growing up but it was never really used, I now have a rack to air dry my clothes specifically in my apartment but most people just use their washer and dryer.
