Yeah the basic stuff we put on popcorn is butter and salt. How are you getting the salt to stick without the butter?

UK popcorn is either super sweet but unflavored (similar to kettle corn taste wise) or it’s insanely salty. Saltier than any chips/crisps I’ve had here. Air popped mostly. My husband was floored at how unsalty ours is relative to theirs. My daughters and I hate the UK popcorn and my stepson and husband hate ours (they find it too greasy and not salty enough)
英国的爆米花要么齁甜但没啥味（味道上接近 kettle corn），要么咸得离谱，比我在这儿吃过的任何薯片都咸。基本都是空气爆的。我老公发现我们的爆米花跟他们的比起来淡成这样，人都惊了。我和女儿们都讨厌英国的爆米花，我继子和我老公讨厌我们的（他们嫌太油腻、不够咸）

If it's hot it will kind of stick. But yeah anything corn in the US usually involves butter and salt.

You cook it in oil so there is a little oil for salt to stick to. Unless you use an air popper.

I don’t know it just sticks it gets shaken up they make the pop corn toss in the seasonings and toss and shake it’s also sometimes in the kernels

They need an oil of some sort to pop popcorn. So there is butter there already to stick the salt. They just don’t add more butter.

That’s because it’s something we only see in movies / series and here in Europe we absolutely do not eat popcorn this way (even though I love to put some mini marshmallows in it but this is another story).
