A mysterious string in the 1980 BASIC game The Wizard's Castle was found to be valid Z80 machine code hidden within a REM comment, allowing the game to execute machine instructions directly from text. This technique bypassed the lack of a standard RANDOMIZE command by using the USR() function to jump to the hidden code.
