A study comparing the open Kimi K3 and closed Fable 5 on approximately 1,030 agentic tasks reveals that while their overall performance is similar, they excel in distinct areas. By using an oracle routing method to predict the most cost-effective model for each task, the authors demonstrate that combining both models yields superior intelligence at a lower cost.
