The Trump administration on Friday brought Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to the U.S. to face criminal charges that he was a key player in an international smuggling ring with gang ties. That marks the end of one chapter in a monthslong legal saga in which the government said the mistakenly deported Maryland man was a violent gang member. It had presented limited evidence for that claim. On Friday, the government provided new details supporting its allegations, but it also faces new hurdles to securing a conviction.
